2023 Move-In

Move-In can be both a fun and stressful time for everyone. Please review the information thoroughly for instructions on the move-in process for the 2022-2023 academic year. After move-in, students are encouraged to attend the many events throughout the week and during Griffon Edge. Students also will have an opportunity to meet their Resident Assistants (RAs) and other floor-mates during a mandatory floor meeting on August 24. Students are invited to an Ice Cream Social at the Commons Building immediately after the floor meeting.

New Students

  • Move-In is August 24, 2022 at 8:00am-5:00pm.
  • Your floor and room number determine your recommended check-in time.
  • Please check inat your building.
  • You must be enrolled in courses, have submitted your Meningococcal immunization records to Esry Health Center, and completed the before receiving your keys.

Returning Students

  • Move-In isAugust 27 & August 28, 20228:00am-5:00pm.
  • Your floor and room number determine your recommended check-in time.
  • Please check inat your building.
  • You must be enrolled in coursesbefore receiving your keys.

Move-In Specifics

First-Year Students –August 24, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

  • Proceed directly to Parking Lot “O” behind Scanlon Hall at your recommended move-in time.
  • At the designated unloading zone, Griffon Greeters will assist with taking your up to your assigned room.
  • Immediately after your items have been unloaded, please move your car to the designated parking area in Parking Lot “O”.
  • Ensure all of your personal belongings have made it to your room, then go to the Game Room in the Lobby to receive a new student ID.This student ID replaces any other student ID you may have received. It will open your door in addition to its other uses.
  • Unpack, decorate, and get to know your new roommate!

  • Proceed to the front desk in lobby of your assigned building.
  • Unload your belongings from your vehicle.
  • Immediately after your items have been taken to your room, please move your car to the designated parking area in Parking Lot “E” or “C.”
  • If you do not have your student ID then you will need to get a student ID from the Police Department on the 2nd floor of Blum Union.
  • Unpack, decorate, and get to know your new roommate!

Please be respectful of marked parking spaces for physical plant, dining services, and accessible parking. These will all be monitored throughout move-in.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you cannot make your recommended move-in time,that’s okay! We understand that students and families are coming from all-over. Our recommended move-in times are there to help reduce bottlenecks within each building. If you are able to make your move-in time, please do! If you are running late or can’t make that time, come when you can.

A limited number of dollies and carts will be available at each building. We still recommend bringing your own if you have one!
