LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

大象传媒 Western strives to develop individuals with a capacity for leadership expressed in service to others.

The process of leadership is practiced and learned through a number of experiential activities and roles; employment, community service, student organizations, and coursework all contribute to knowledge and understanding of leadership.

The Center for Student Involvementsponsors a number of activities designed to help students reflect on experience and understand the process of leadership and how their contributions can make a positive impact on their community. The following is a list of the most common programs we offer here at 大象传媒 Western.

RSO Leadership Summit

The Registered Student Organizations (RSO) Leadership Summit is a retreat held exclusively for the top leaders of 大象传媒 Western鈥檚 campus community. Facilitated bythe Center for Student Involvement, the retreat is designed to help these leaders continue to develop and improve their chapters, in addition to planning ways to strengthen the campus community as a whole. Many different facilitators have participated in this retreat, along with many different students, making it a very valuable experience for campus leaders.

Minor & Certificate Program

Leaders gain experience through their campus involvement; you can gain a better understanding of group dynamics, ethics, personal interactions, and other important leadership skills with a graduate certificate in leadership studies or a leadership studies minor.
