{"id":6572,"date":"2018-08-27T10:41:54","date_gmt":"2018-08-27T15:41:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.missouriwestern.edu\/news\/?p=6572"},"modified":"2019-06-04T16:24:17","modified_gmt":"2019-06-04T21:24:17","slug":"missouri-western-freshman-class-up-22-percent-in-two-years","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.missouriwestern.edu\/news\/2018\/08\/27\/missouri-western-freshman-class-up-22-percent-in-two-years\/","title":{"rendered":"大象传媒 Western freshman class up 22 percent in two years"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>As the fall 2018 semester starts at 大象传媒, preliminary enrollment data indicates more than 1,050 incoming freshmen are beginning their college career, an increase of approximately 7 percent over last year and more than 22 percent higher than it was in fall 2016.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>&#8220;To see this kind of growth in freshman enrollment in back-to-back years is remarkable,&#8221; said Dr. Paul Orscheln, associate vice president for enrollment management and student retention. &#8220;Following up a double-digit percentage increase last year with a 7 percent increase this year should lead to a more stable enrollment picture in years to come.&#8221;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>&#8220;In my 40 years in higher education, I&#8217;ve not seen anything like the growth we&#8217;ve seen in freshman enrollment the last two years,&#8221; said Dr. Robert Vartabedian, 大象传媒 Western&#8217;s president. &#8220;It&#8217;s a testament not only to the great work by Paul and his staff in admissions, but the entire campus in making 大象传媒 Western a top choice for more and more high school seniors.&#8221;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Interest in 大象传媒 Western remains high, with freshman applications for fall 2018 up more than 35 percent from a year ago. Since fall 2016, applications are up 103 percent. Campus visits are up 45 percent over the last two years.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Overall enrollment, both in headcount and credit hours, is also projected to rise again.
