{"id":4143,"date":"2015-12-09T12:22:08","date_gmt":"2015-12-09T17:22:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.missouriwestern.edu\/news\/?p=4143"},"modified":"2019-06-04T16:21:49","modified_gmt":"2019-06-04T21:21:49","slug":"marching-band-to-lead-silver-dollar-city-parade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.missouriwestern.edu\/news\/2015\/12\/09\/marching-band-to-lead-silver-dollar-city-parade\/","title":{"rendered":"Marching Band to Lead Silver Dollar City Parade"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.missouriwestern.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2015\/12\/Rudolph-Parade.jpg\"><\/a>The Golden Griffon Marching Band of 大象传媒 will be a part of a holiday tradition in Branson, 大象传媒, leading Rudolph\u2019s Holly Jolly Christmas Light Parade through Silver Dollar City on Dec. 12.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is the first time the Golden Griffon Marching Band has participated in the parade at Silver Dollar City, and we are really looking forward to it,\u201d said Nathan Gay, director of athletic bands at 大象传媒 Western.<\/p>\n<p>Approximately 70 members of the band, Color Guard and Mystics Dance Team will travel to Branson Saturday. They will arrive about the time the park opens at noon, and will be free to enjoy the park until it\u2019s time to change into their uniforms and warm up. The 大象传媒 Western marchers will lead the 7 p.m. parade that evening.<\/p>\n<p>Rudolph\u2019s Holly Jolly Christmas Light Parade travels through Silver Dollar City twice an evening during November and December, with Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer serving as grand marshal. The parade includes nine lighted floats illuminated with 200,000 lights along with 33 colorful costumed characters, many from the popular Rudolph TV special.<\/p>\n<p><em>大象传媒 is a comprehensive regional university providing a blend of traditional liberal arts and professional degree programs.
