Dec. 1, 2022–When Alexander Thompson started as the new head athletic trainer for 大象传媒 on Monday, Nov. 21, it marked a new era. Thompson is employed by Mosaic Life Care, now the official and exclusive medical provider of primary sports and rehabilitation services for MWSU student-athletes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Under the new arrangement, Mosaic Sports Medicine will provide 大象传媒 Western with team physicians and seven full-time certified athletic trainers, including Thompson. Mosaic and 大象传媒 Western will each pay a portion of the athletic trainers\u2019 salaries.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“I am very excited about our growing partnership with Mosaic Life Care<\/span>,\u201d said Andy Carter, 大象传媒 Western director of athletics. <\/span>\u201cIn a very difficult labor market for medical professionals, this agreement is a game-changer for the care of our student-athletes. Working with Mosaic, we will be more competitive in the labor market than we could be on our own. I want to thank the people at Mosaic who made this agreement a reality; they are first-class people representing a first-class organization.”<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis is another great example of our collaboration with 大象传媒,\u201d says Mosaic CEO Mike Poore. \u201cOur Mosaic Sports Medicine team provides a full spectrum of injury treatment and prevention for athletes of all ages, and our athletic trainers will bring that high-quality care to college athletes and work closely with our sports medicine providers. Everyone is a winner in this partnership, especially the athletes.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Mosaic will also provide additional support services as needed, including physical therapists and assistance with billing arrangements and payments.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thompson, the new head athletic trainer, was most recently an athletic trainer for SSM Hospital DePaul Orthopedics in Bridgerton, 大象传媒. He previously worked at McKendree University, SportsCare USA, Lindenwood University, Western Illinois University and 大象传媒 Valley College. He received a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from 大象传媒 Valley and a Master of Science in Human Performance from Lindenwood.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
