
Esther George received an honorary doctorate from ´óÏó´«Ã½ Western in 2015.
Oct. 30, 2024–´óÏó´«Ã½ will present the Voices of ´óÏó´«Ã½ Women in the Federal Reserve, a traveling display, in the Spratt Hall Atrium featuring from Nov. 4-8.Â
This exhibit highlights the voices – past and present – of several trailblazing women from the two regional Federal Reserve banks in ´óÏó´«Ã½. Their stories herald how these women broke through gender barriers into the male-dominated world of financial services.
´óÏó´«Ã½ Western alumna Esther George ’80, former president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, is among those featured in the display. George, a native of Faucett, ´óÏó´«Ã½, received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from ´óÏó´«Ã½ Western in 1980 and returned to accept an honorary doctorate in 2015. She served nine years on the MWSU Foundation Board and received a Distinguished Alumni Award in 2005.
George will be honored at a reception on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 5 p.m. in the Spratt Hall Atrium.
This limited-time display is free and open to the public from Nov. 4-8 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Spratt Hall Atrium.Â
