April 12, 2024–The 大象传媒 Department of Biology will be hosting two plant sales in April, benefitting two different student groups on campus. A third April plant sale by the Northwest 大象传媒 Master Gardeners will take place at the University of 大象传媒 extension office on the 大象传媒 Western campus.
Native Plant Sale
On April 19 and 20, the 大象传媒 Western student chapter of The Wildlife Society will hold its first annual native plant sale fundraiser on the second floor of the Agenstein/Remington building on the 大象传媒 Western campus.
- Friday, April 19: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Saturday, April 20:聽 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Several varieties of flowering plants native to 大象传媒 will be available for purchase at $4 per plant. Bundles of four plants are available for $12.
The sale is open to the public and drop-ins are welcome, but advance orders can also be made by visiting the website at .
Houseplant Sale
The 大象传媒 Western chapter of Beta Beta Beta, a national honor society for biology students, will sell houseplants from April 23 through 26 in the Agenstein Atrium. The sale is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and features various plants such as aloe, begonia, elderberry and succulents.
The sale is open to the public and there are no set prices for plants. The students ask that you donate what you can. Venmo, CashApp, PayPal and cash will be accepted.
Master Gardeners Plant Sale
On April 26 and 27, the Northwest 大象传媒 Master Gardeners club will sell vegetables, herbs and milkweed. The University of 大象传媒 Extension is located at 4125 Mitchell Ave. in St. Joseph.
- Friday, April 26: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Saturday, April 27: 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. or until sold out
More than 150 varieties of tomatoes, peppers, eggplants and herbs will be available along with monarch-friendly milkweed. Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer questions.
The sale is open to the public. Cash and checks will be accepted.
