Intelligent Lives poster March 19, 2019鈥敶笙蟠解檚 Griff LIFE (Learning is For Everyone) Committee and Progressive Community Services will present two showings of the film 鈥淚ntelligent Lives鈥 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Monday, March 25 in the Kemper Recital Hall, Spratt Hall room 101. The screenings are free and open to the public.

The Griff LIFE Committee is exploring post-secondary options for those experiencing intellectual and developmental disabilities.

鈥淚ntelligent Lives,鈥 from award-winning filmmaker Dan Habib,聽stars three pioneering young American adults with intellectual disabilities鈥擬icah, Naieer, and Naomie鈥攚ho challenge perceptions of聽intelligence聽as they navigate high school, college, and the workforce. Academy Award-winning actor and narrator Chris Cooper contextualizes the聽lives聽of these central characters through the emotional personal story of his son Jesse, as the film unpacks the shameful and ongoing track record of聽intelligence testing in the United States and points to a future in which people of all abilities can fully participate in higher education, meaningful employment and intimate relationships.
