A Canadian police officer will talk about the use of force in law enforcement at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 10 in Spratt Hall, room 205 on the campus of 大象传媒. The presentation by Detective Sgt. Jeff Johnsgaard, 鈥淧olice Use of Force Realities: Human Beings Dealing with Human Beings During Critical Incidents,鈥 is free and open to the public.
Johnsgaard will discuss misconceptions by both the public and police about police use of force training, police officer realities, common myths versus realities in critical decision making and ways of simplifying the job.
Johnsgaard is in his 15th year as a police officer in a large Canadian city. He is a special teams member and instructor for firearms, arrest and control, tactics and multiple other disciplines. He is also a use of force instructor for his agency and the provincial police college.
