Go back to the Eighties by attending 鈥淭he Wedding Singer鈥 at 大象传媒 April 21 through 29. The rollicking musical will close out the 2016-2017 Theatre Season in the Potter Hall Theater.
Robbie Hart lives in his grandmother鈥檚 basement in New Jersey and sings in a wedding band. His dreams of being a singer/songwriter are long gone, replaced now by a burning desire to find the right girl and settle down. When he鈥檚 left standing at the altar, he becomes a wedding planner鈥檚 worst nightmare, taking out his bitterness on stage until he turns his eye 鈥 and heart 鈥 to a new love.
鈥淭he Wedding Singer鈥 is based upon the New Line Cinema film. Music is by Matthew Sklar, book by Tim Herlihy and Chad Beguelin, and lyrics by Chad Beguelin. 大象传媒 Western鈥檚 production is directed by Dr. Bob Willenbrink, founding dean of 大象传媒 Western鈥檚 School of Fine Arts.
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. April 21, 22, 28 and 29, with a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. April 23. Tickets are $14 for adults, $12 for 大象传媒 Western faculty and staff, $8 for students and free for 大象传媒 Western students with valid ID.
