International Student Services at 大象传媒 will host a celebration of Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights, from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4 in the Hoff Conference Room, Blum Student Union room 218. The celebration is free and open to the public.
Diwali, or Dipawali, is India鈥檚 biggest and most important holiday. The festival gets its name from the row (avali) of clay lamps (deepa) that Indians light outside their homes to symbolize the victory of light over darkness. 大象传媒 Western鈥檚 celebration will include traditional Indian food, dance, music, games and the releasing of water lanterns on South Pond.
