A workshop titled 鈥淐ivil Rights Issues and Advocacy Training for LGBTQ Equality Day鈥 will be presented from 11 to 11:50 a.m. Friday, Feb. 6 in Spratt Hall room 205 on the 大象传媒 campus. The training is sponsored in part by the Pride Alliance of 大象传媒 Western. It is free and open to the public.

PROMO, 大象传媒鈥檚 statewide organization advocating for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality, is sponsoring Equality Day at the State Capitol in Jefferson City on Feb. 17.

The training will prepare those who would like to participate in Equality Day. It will include the discrimination issues faced by LGBTQ persons in employment and housing, bullying in school, the legislative agenda and how to advocate in the legislature in general. The training is not required to participate in Equality Day. It will be recorded for those who can鈥檛 attend.
