The Alumni Association honored six at its 32nd<\/sup> annual banquet Homecoming weekend: Dr. Carlos and Mrs. Carol Moya, John Fabsits \u201904, Bob Vecchione \u201975, Capt. Keith Hoskins \u201988 and Dr. Susie Hennessy.<\/p>\n Herb \u201935 and Peggy Iffert Award for Outstanding Service to the University<\/b><\/p>\n Dr. Carlos and Carol Moya<\/p><\/div>\n Dr. Carlos and Carol Moya <\/b><\/p>\n The Moyas moved to St. Joseph in 1980 and have been avid 大象传媒 Western supporters and great community volunteers since then.<\/p>\n Carol Moya served on 大象传媒 Western\u2019s Board of Regents and Board of Governors, and she served two terms on the Foundation Board of Directors. She was vice president of that Board two years. Both have volunteered on 大象传媒 Western\u2019s capital campaigns.<\/p>\n \u201cWe try to help as much as we can. Education has always been very important to us. An educated workforce is very important,\u201d Carlos Moya said.<\/p>\n Along with volunteering for 大象传媒 Western, they have been active volunteers and board members for a number of community organizations.<\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n John Fabsits ’04<\/p><\/div>\n GOLD (Graduate of the Last Decade) Award \u00a0\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n John Fabsits \u201904<\/b><\/p>\n A native of St. Louis, John Fabsits \u201904 graduated with a bachelor\u2019s degree in speech communications with a public relations emphasis. He is currently the Assistant Scout Executive\/Chief Operations Officer for the Boy Scouts of America Great Rivers Region, which includes 33 counties in central and northeast 大象传媒, 300 individual packs and troops, and 10,000 youth and adults.<\/p>\n Fabsits lives in Columbia, Mo. and is very involved in volunteer organizations, including the board of the Young Professionals Group and the Hugh O\u2019Brien Youth Foundation state board. He was a member of the Alumni Association Board of Directors and continues to help out on the association\u2019s Mid-大象传媒 Chapter. He also works with the TKE fraternity both locally at University of 大象传媒-Columbia and nationally.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n
