style=\"font-weight: 400\">For the first time, at the May 2021 Commencement, the 大象传媒 Western Alumni Association gifted legacy students with a specific cord to wear at graduation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This Legacy Cord recognizes the connection they share with their family members who graduated before them. Students with 大象传媒 Western graduates in their family history (parents, step-parents, or grandparents) are considered legacies. Undergraduate and graduate students were eligible.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Allison Hildebrand \u201921 is one of the first graduates to receive our new legacy cord. Allison received her bachelor\u2019s degree in speech communication in May 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cI would say being a legacy means MWSU is doing its job correctly,\u201d Allison said. \u201cIt gave my mother the tools and education she needed to help me get to graduation, and I couldn&#8217;t have done it without her.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Allison\u2019s mother, Rita Hildebrand \u201911, agrees that it is cool. \u201cIt is such an accomplishment for both of us,\u201d added Rita, who graduated in 2011 with a bachelor\u2019s degree in Education.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">When your legacy Griffon is ready to graduate, have them go to <a href=\"http:\/\/missouriwestern.edu\/alumni\/legacy-cords\">missouriwestern.edu\/alumni\/legacy-cords<\/a> and register for their legacy cord.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><style
