1970s 1980s Bruffy retired as artistic director from the Phoenix Chorale, but continues full-time in his roles as artistic director and conductor of the Kansas City Chorale, chorus director for the Kansas City Symphony Chorus, and director of music at Rolling Hills Presbyterian Church in Overland Park, Kansas.<\/p>\n Jim Finley \u201983 <\/strong>will retire June 30, 2017 as superintendent of the Blue Springs (大象传媒) School District. Finley started his education career as a coach for the football team at 大象传媒 Western and went to Blue Springs as a coach and teacher in 1994.<\/p>\n 1990s Rick Stepanek \u201992<\/strong> was promoted to warden at the Western Reception, Diagnostic and Correctional Center (WRDCC) for the 大象传媒 Department of Corrections in St. Joseph, 大象传媒.<\/p>\n Greg Gildersleeve \u201993 <\/strong>published \u201cThe Power Club,\u201d an action-adventure novel. Gildersleeve is senior Jon Brady \u201994 <\/strong>is the supervisor of security for St. Luke\u2019s Hospital in Kansas City, 大象传媒. He is responsible for security at St. Luke\u2019s 109 properties and 12 hospitals in Kansas City, northwest 大象传媒 and Kansas.<\/p>\n Robert Haberle \u201994 <\/strong>is semi-retired as a travel nurse and plans to substitute teach.<\/p>\n Geoff Heckman \u201997<\/strong>, a school counselor at Platte County High School in Platte City, 大象传媒, was named a 2018 School Counselor of the Year finalist by the American School Counselor Association. The ASCA honors professionals who devote their careers to advocating for the nation\u2019s students and addressing their academic and social\/emotional development and college- and career-readiness needs. He has been a school counselor for 14 years and has been at Platte County High School since 2014.<\/p>\n 2000s Dustin Holcumbrink \u201905 <\/strong>is the director of sales and marketing at the Kansas City Marriott Downtown. The convention hotel is the largest in Kansas City and plays host to numerous men\u2019s and women\u2019s basketball teams (including the Griffons!) every spring for the MIAA Tournament. Dustin and wife, Blair \u201905, live outside of Kansas City with their three daughters.<\/p>\n Leah Richardson \u201904 <\/strong>was hired as principal of Lindbergh Elementary School in St. Joseph, 大象传媒, for the 2018-19 school year. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Christy (Fuenfhausen) Todd \u201905 <\/strong>and her husband, Clinton, announce the birth of a daughter,<\/p>\n Eleanor Christine Todd<\/p><\/div>\n Eleanor Christine, born Nov. 16, 2017. She was welcomed by three brothers, Morgan, Lucas and Austin.<\/p>\n Charles Baxter ’06<\/p><\/div>\n Charles G. Baxter \u201906 <\/strong>was promoted to director, 大象传媒 State Veterans Cemeteries. He is responsible for five state veterans cemeteries and compliance audits of Veterans Service Offices throughout the state. After he graduated, he began as a veterans service officer and in March 2012, took over duties as the cemetery director at the State Veterans Cemetery in Fort Leonard Wood.<\/p>\n Westlakes<\/p><\/div>\n Tara (Stull) \u201905 and Aaron \u201907\/\u201917 Westlake <\/strong>announce the birth of a son, Declan Cole, born Oct. 27, 2017. Aaron joined Cerner Corporation as a software engineer in July 2017.<\/p>\n Michael O\u2019Neal \u201906 <\/strong>and his wife, Kyleigh, announce the birth of a<\/p>\n daughter, Emmerson Grace, born Sept. 18, 2017.<\/p>\n Emmerson Grace O’Neal<\/p><\/div>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Jones Gavin Searles and his brothers Jaxon and Jenson.<\/p><\/div>\n Darcie \u201906 <\/strong>and Jason \u201906 Searles <\/strong>announce the birth of a son, Jones Gavin, born July 7, 2017. He joins two big brothers, Jaxon and Jenson.<\/p>\n Justin McCarthy \u201907 <\/strong>was hired as principal of Hosea Elementary School in St. Joseph, 大象传媒 for the 2018-19 school year.<\/p>\n 2010s Kathryn Karjala-Curtis \u201911 <\/strong>is the county attorney for Faribault County, Minnesota.<\/p>\n
\n<\/strong>Gary Patterson \u201976<\/strong>, founder of the Patterson Legal Group, opened a branch of his Wichita, Kansas law office in St. Joseph, 大象传媒.<\/p>\n
\n<\/strong>Charles Bruffy \u201981<\/strong>, Grammy-award winning conductor, received the Signature Sinfonian award from the\u00a0Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America<\/a>. The Signature Sinfonian award is conferred upon Sinfonian members who have achieved a high standard of accomplishment in their field or profession, thereby bringing honor to Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. Bruffy\u2019s award was bestowed specifically for \u201cdisplaying an outstanding commitment and dedication to his field; demonstrating himself as a successful role model and helping others realize their potential; and exhibiting high standards of excellence in representing the Fraternity as an alumnus.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n<\/strong>Melissa Birdsell \u201992<\/strong> was appointed to the board of directors for The Children\u2019s Trust Fund, 大象传媒\u2019s foundation for child abuse prevention. Birdsell is the executive director of Northwest 大象传媒 Children\u2019s Advocacy Center.<\/p>\n
<\/a>foundations faculty at Grantham University, where he teaches English and general education courses.<\/p>\n
\n<\/strong>Stacy Williamson \u201902 <\/strong>is at the Northland Center for Advanced Professional Studies, which serves the 14 Northland high schools in Kansas City, 大象传媒. She teaches medicine and heatlhcare at Liberty Hospital.<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>Capt. Brian Turner \u201910<\/strong> currently serves as the administrator, Department of Surgery at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. The medical center is the only Level 1 Trauma Center within the Department of Defense. Since graduating from 大象传媒 Western, Capt. Turner earned an MBA from Oklahoma State University and a Masters in Healthcare Administration from Weber State University, graduating summa cum laude. He is the recipient of numerous military awards including the Meritorious Service Medal (two awards) and the Army Commendation Medal (two awards). Additionally, he is Board Certified in Healthcare Administration as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.<\/p>\n
