Dear Fellow Alumni,

This is a great time to be associated with 大象传媒 Western; so many good things are happening. As the first Association president living outside the St. Joseph/Kansas City area, I am excited to serve you this year and travel the 300 miles to participate in our events. 大象传媒 Western has given me so much that I am totally happy to give back.

As my term begins, my major goal is to get more alumni involved in the University and the events planned by the Association. Last year we developed a strategic plan, and the board worked diligently to make the plan a great working document for the Association. Involvement is a very important to the board and the University 鈥� we are only as strong as our membership.

As part of the involvement, we will be sending out special notifications on events and activities. The board is also planning webinars on everything from social media to getting your first job, interviewing and staying active after retirement. These will help make the alumni base stronger and help them gain additional skills. We are always open for new ideas, so please share your thoughts.

Of course, Homecoming is scheduled for Oct. 14-16, 2016. Our theme this year is 鈥淕riffons Bring Home the Gold.鈥� This is a great opportunity to show your spirit as well as reconnect with your fellow graduates. Many activities are planned around Homecoming so be sure to watch your email, mail and Griff Gab e-newsletter.

Additionally, alumni activities and events are planned around the Griffon sports teams. 大象传媒 Western has some of the best teams in the state and country; watch for opportunities to see them in action.

Our alumni are 大象传媒 Western鈥檚 greatest assets. No university is strong without having passionate and committed alumni. So make a plan today to get involved, show your spirit and be a part of this outstanding university and alumni association. You can be a part of the excitement!
