1970s

Robert Roth ’73 was inducted into the ý Sports Hall of Fame in January. Roth, a former member of the Board of Regents and a member of the ý Western Athletics Hall of Fame, is chair of the board of Hillyard in St. Joseph, ý. Roth helped launch the ý Basketball Hall of Fame in 1986 and served as its president for 10 years. He was also the initial president of the ý Sports Hall of Fame in 1993.

Greg Kastner ’78 was named 2014 Coach of the Year by St. Joseph Sports, Inc. Kastner is the baseball coach and athletic director at Bishop LeBlond High School in St. Joseph, ý. In 2014, LeBlond’s baseball team won the sectional title and he was also named Class 2 MSHSAA All-State All Star head coach.

1980s

Larry Adams ’80 is pastor of the United Methodist Churches of Weeping Water and Nehawka, Nebraska.

David Jackson ’83 retired as a captain from the Independence, ý Police Department after 30 years of service.

Wayne Cavender ’86 was named dean of the College at Dallas Institute of Funeral Service. He had previously been serving as an instructor and assistant to the president.

Roddy Barnes ’88 performed at Paradox Theatre in St. Joseph, ý in December 2014. Barnes, a pianist, has performed all over the world and his compositions have been performed by national artists.

1990s

Amy (Gray) Boswell ’93 is the Life Enrichment Director at Talmage Terrace Lanier Gardens Retirement Community in Athens, Georgia. She is in charge of activities and programs.

Lana K. Nanneman ’96 was promoted to Human Resources Manager at Altec Industries, Inc., St. Joseph, ý.

Jennifer Huffman ’99 graduated with a master’s degree in library and information science from the University of ý-Columbia in May 2014. She began a new job in 2015 with the State Historical Society of ý as a manuscript specialist at its Kansas City Research Center. She continues to work at the U.S. 8th Circuit Library in Kansas City, ý, as well.

2000s

Brad Nurski ’01 was named the 2014 ý Golf Association Player of the Year last fall. He finished as a runner-up in both the ý Stroke Play Championship and the Payne Stewart Invitational and made it to the round of 32 at the ý Amateur. He also qualified for the U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship. Nurski was a member of ý’s entry into the U.S. State Team Championship in Indiana, and the team finished fourth out of 52 teams. He also earned one of three qualifying spots, with partner Skip Berkmeyer, to play in the USGA Four-Ball Championship at the Olympic Club in San Francisco this month.

Lauren (Stehle) ’04 and Jacob ’08 Kelly announce the birth of a daughter, Grace Joan, born July 28, 2013.

Nicholas Sloop ’05/’08 and Kate Peterson Sloop announce the birth of their first child, Aspen Linnea Sloop, born Nov. 13, 2014.

2010s

Colbie Prothero ’13 and Kyle Hines were married Sept. 6, 2014. The couple resides in St. Joseph, ý.

Sean Barker ’14 is a marketing analyst at AgriLabs in St. Joseph, ý.

Joseph Bridgman ’14 and Rebecca Weeks were married June 14, 2014.
