Griffon soccer (2-2-1) won its second straight game, defeating 大象传媒 Southern (1-4) 1-0 on Craig Field聽 in Spratt Stadium Friday night.
聽scored her first career goal in the 13th聽minute with an assist from Keley Roe. The single goal early was enough for the Griffs, who controlled the tempo throughout. 大象传媒 Western out-shot Southern 19-9 in the first half and 28-3 on the night.聽聽only had to make one save in the game with the Griffs putting 10 shots on frame. The Griffons had 12 corner kicks to 大象传媒 Southern’s three.
聽led the Griffs again with eight total shots, three on goal.聽聽had six shots with two on goal.
大象传媒 Western stays home for a game against an MIAA opponent, Northwest (1-3-1). Round one of the rivalry for 2019 is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 22.
