Men鈥檚 Basketball
The men鈥檚 basketball team had home games on Dec. 6 and 8. The first was a loss against Lindenwood University, 75-58. On the eighth, the Griffons lost to Lincoln University 79-68, bringing their record to 5-6. The next game is at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19 at home against Rockhurst University. Over the semester break, the men will play at home at 3 p.m.聽 Sunday, Dec. 30 against University of Illinois Springfield in the fieldhouse.
Two away games will also be played over the semester break:

Women鈥檚 Basketball
The women鈥檚 basketball team played Lindenwood University on Dec. 6 and Lincoln University on Dec. 8. They lost to Lindenwood 74-60, but came back from behind to beat Lincoln 62-61. Their record now stands at 4-5.
The women next play at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19 against Newman University, and at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30 against Adams State University. Both games are at home.

Griffon Football
Griffon football (7-5) jumped out to an early lead and hung on to win the 2018 Agent Barry Live United Bowl, 30-25 over Southern Arkansas (8-4) on Dec. 1.
Outstanding special teams and crucial plays on both sides of the ball helped 大象传媒 Western to its first seven-win season since 2014. Senior kicker Tyler Basch was named the Agent Barry Live United Bowl MVP after going three-for-three on field goal attempts, including a Live United Bowl record 58-yard field goal at the end of the first half. Basch鈥檚 bowl recordbreaking kick tied the 大象传媒 Western record.
Track and Field
Men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 track and field kicked off the 2018-19 indoor season on Friday and Saturday at the Mel Tjeerdsma Classic at Northwest 大象传媒 State in Maryville.
The Griffons had three individuals win four events at the meet. Hanna Williams聽took first in the women鈥檚 400 meter dash with a time of 55.14. Her time is also good for an NCAA Div. II provisional qualifying mark. Megan Gillen聽won two events on Saturday. She took first in the one-mile run with a time of 5:14.87 and won the 3000 meter run with a career-best time of 10:40.20. Jordan Garr聽won the men鈥檚 shotput with a mark of 16.97 meters.
