In addition to listening to your student, be open to their ideas and help them find <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">important information related to their career journey. Here are a few ideas on how you can further <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">support their journey:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Plan to visit the Career Development Center with your student<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Next time you are visiting the beautiful ΄σΟσ΄«Γ½ campus, plan a visit with your <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">student to the Career Development Center. It can be a great way to encourage your student to discover <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">our free resources and develop a connection that will open doors to their future career options. We <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">offer a variety of career development and job-search resources including:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Mock interviews<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A network of alumni and friends willing to provide mentorship and job search assistance<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tools to write winning resumes and cover letters<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Career coaching<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Encourage your student to develop a resume<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Resumes are often the first impression a potential employer has of a candidate. Suggest your student <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">use a sample resume from our website to develop their own document. Afterwards, review their <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">resume with them and provide suggestions \u2013 but encourage them to have the final version critiqued by <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">our office.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Have your student complete a career personality assessment<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If your student seems unsure of their direction, you should consider sharing with them the personality <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">qualities you see as their strongest talents or attributes.
